-Unit 6-
Whimsical House

I actually loved making my whimsical house. At first I had an idea like Simones, but that was a little challenging for me so I scrapped it. Once I got the base figured out, making the roof was actually super easy. I had a lot of fun painting on all of the details of the flower and the tree stump. I knew I wanted a pop of color, so the windows had to be painted. I like how the window colors are a lot lighter than they are in the picture, because I wanted something light and fun.
The organic shape was a lot like the wall hanging, where it was easy to make and it just let my painting skills go at it. I wanted something simple, but something that reminded me of the ocean. I loved the purple colors, especially because one is like a blue purple and one is a pink purple. I think I could have made the shape more swoopy, and that I probably would have liked it more if I did.

Vessle with Interesting Feet/Teapot

My teapot with the fancy foot was so successful in my eyes. It was a pinch pot and it was my best one yet, and Violet helped me and showed me how to smooth it out. I spent a lot of time working on the 'body' of the pot, and then making the lid was super easy. It isn't finished yet, but it's gonna look like a pumpkin because that would be super cute. I really hope the glaze turns out nice.
Final Platter
I love my final. I actually took so much time with this platter and it totally paid off. I took a lot of time just smoothing out the mold and making sure it was perfect. Then, like my other pieces, I let my painting skills and details really shine with the butterfly. I only messed up on the details on the back of the platter. I had to use water to kind of erase the parts that I messed up, and ended up making most of it have this blue tint. Other than that, I absolutely love my final.
